I missed the RED LIGHT. Yikes! Uh Oh! Not while driving Cop friends! Not LOL! The red light at my weekly Toastmasters meeting last night! The Red light cop busted me right after I went 1:30 OVER doing an evaluation for one of our advanced speakers. I have a lesson to learn ASAP. Here is what it is…Agree? Thoughts? For the record, in 2 years I don’t make it a habit to go over. I must have seriously sidetracked myself to avoid listening the red light last night. I think the real reason is because I was super excited to give some great tips and nuggets for my speaker. I also stole 2 minutes from another speaker. But that’s another story. LOL!
Last night’s meeting was phenomenal. Sara Finkelstein brought THREE GUESTS!!!!!!!! Who does that??????? Well, Sara did!!! I challenge you to bring a guest. It will add a nice dynamic when your speaking. You also will add most welcome guests to your intro after acknowledging the Toastmaster of the day (Chris Gunning Last night) , the fellow Toastmasters. A lot of Table topics! Echo won best Table Topic! Congrats!!! Echo mentioned in the meeting she is attending the make up TLI leadership training for officers 9/15. Our club will get a special prize. To be announced later. Brenda and Douglas gave typical sandwich or oreo cookie evaluations. Clever and handy tips for the speakers. See you on 9/17 at the area 33 contest to support 2 contestants from our club, Chris Gunning and John Gentithes. Evaluation and Humorous contest. $10 at the door. 9AM to 1pm. Boca Community Center. Want to attend? Lot of planning goes into each meeting and kudos and thanks go a lot to the Toastmaster of the day. Recommended sign up and try that role after a few speeches. Our 43rd member comes to our club from last night! BTW! Wooohooo! Yay!!
the official minutes will be emailed to the club from club secretary Sara Finkelstein. 90 minutes seems long but we have a goal and it is met EACH meeting every week. Everyone speaks!!!!!!!!
Now back to that RED LIGHT!! Lesson I learned.
1. See eye doctor
2. Stop at Red
3. Road or in a meeting.
4. See rule #1 or #2
Seriously, this is a reminder for our club members and contestants to not go over time. In a contest, you will be disqualified. In life, time is short and time is money. Getting to the point in less time is a valued skill.
1:30 over gave me a valuable lesson to share. Cheers Toastmasters!!!
