Somehow people are always striving for attention since the beginning of time. Cave men would pound on their chest. Tarzan comes to mind later on in the evolution cycle. Perhaps you chanted some words to round up your spouse, kids, prospects, clients, offline in person and also online virtually. Getting attention is always at the top of everyones mind. I think this topic can easily go more than my normal 300 word blog entry, but here’s a snippet of thoughts for today. Whether you’re an amateur photographer, professional photographer through all aspects of life, YOU also vie for attention too. Some are subtle, others are more direct like spam. Sometimes CHEESE works. Long before photographers yelled cheese, the mice got the wrap on that one. Amateurs I think yelled a cheer to grab a smile. Thinking about it, it sounds cheesy. What are ways to grab attention that you like? Thoughts?

HALT STOP WAIT HEY YOU!!!!
Somehow people are always striving for attention since the beginning of time.  Cave men would pound on their chest.  Tarzan comes to mind later on in the evolution cycle.  Perhaps chanted some words to round up your spouse, kids, prospects, clients, offline in person and also online virtually.  Getting attention is always at the top of everyones mind.  I think this topic can easily go more than my normal 300 word blog entry, but here’s a snippet of thoughts for today.  Whether you’re an amateur photographer, professional photographer throughout all aspects of life, YOU also vie for attention too. Thoughts?

SAY CHEESE!

SAY BEAUTIFUL!

LAUGHING IS UNIVERSAL WORLDWIDE!  YOU DON’T HAVE TO TRANSLATE IT!

Looking back over the years, my parents and family were definitely culprits for promoting cheese chants with the camera.  OMG!  Programmed at a young age to smile with Swiss, Gouda, Lorraine, or American?  If you’re a cheese lover, thats fantastic!  You’re dreaming of cheese and a smile and your family must have great photos of you growing up through the years.  But, if you hated cheese or lactose intolerant the sound of cheese chants might have hurt your ears.  Did your family say the same or did they say a different word?  What  phrase were you brainwashed or tricked into smiling?

Today, photographers are not the only ones trying to get our attention.  Family members, friends, pets, and companies are vying for our eyeballs.  They all want to borrow them and sometimes at the same time.  Each one has their technique.  Some more blunt than others.  Some gently share a story.  Some come right out and say what’s on their mind.  Some play a game like charades.  So just what is the BEST way to get attention?  A better way to say it, communicate.   How much time do you have to communicate before someone  loses interest?   Walks away, deletes an email, erases a text, responds to our text, answers the phone, gives us eye contact at a live presentation,  laughs, cry, displays any sign of emotion that shows we are reaching them.  History or my history has taught me we all have seconds or milliseconds to capture attention or a first impression!  Do you have a demonstration or question to tantalize or control our thoughts today?  What have you experienced last week that you felt strongly about that could be important to you to share in a 2 minute or 5 minute chat?  Ask a thought provoking question and then share your story.  Give some supporting ideas or research.  Followup at the end with a good ending with a call to action or an action step.  If we do the action, we’ll get the result we may want now.  Agree?   Somehow people are always striving for attention since the beginning of time.  Cave men would pound on their chest.  Tarzan comes to mind later on in the evolution cycle.  Perhaps you chanted some words to round up your spouse, kids, prospects, clients, offline in person and also online virtually.  Getting attention is always at the top of everyones mind.  I think this topic can easily go more than my normal 300 word blog entry, but here’s a snippet of thoughts for today.  Whether your an amateur photographer, professional photographer throughout all aspects of life, YOU also vie for attention too.
